Our Admission Offers


PGD, M.Sc and Ph.D


Post Graduate Diplomas in Public Health. Available options are full-time (1 year) and part-time (2years).


M.Sc. in Public Health. Available options are full-time (1 year) and part-time (2years).


Doctoral (PhD/DrPH) programmes in Public Health with specialization in environmental health, epidemiology, occupational health and saferty, health promotion, health system management, population and reproductive health. Available options are full-time (3 years) and part time (5 years).

CME/CPD Certificate

Short courses leading to the award of CMEs/CPDs, certificate.



Eligible candidates would be those with:

1. Higher National Diploma (HND) in any health-related discipline (credit)
2. Community Health Officer (CHO) with a credit grade
3. B.Sc, B.A, M.SC,. M.A., PhD in any discipline
4. Holders of a BSc with CGPA less than 3.00 on a five point scale
5. All candidates should additionally possess a credit in English and Mathematics in any of WAEC, NECO or SSCE
6. NYSC discharge certificate or an exemption letter.
7. Candidates are also required to undergo an aptitude test and an interview.



1. Holders of a post-graduate diploma (PGD) in Public Health with a CGPA of 3.00
Candidates who possess a first degree in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, physiotherapy and other relevant courses allied to medicine (for all non-medically qualified, transcript must show an exposure to public health at undergraduate level).
2. Eligible candidates in these disciplines must possess a Second Class Honours Degree with at least a CGPA of 3.00 on a 5-point Scale or its equivalent.
3. NYSC discharge certificate or an exemption from the scheme
4. Candidates are also required to undergo an aptitude test and an interview.



1. Candidates admitted into the Ph.D programmes should have completed a Master's Degree in Public Health with a CGPA of not less than 4 on a five-point scale.
2. Membership (Part 1) or Fellowship in Public Health from either or both the West African College of Physicians and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.
3. Presented a statement of purpose which should also contain the proposal for the research he or she is intending to undertake.
4. Provide two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from an employer or supervisor and the other from the University Candidate obtained the Master's degree.
5. Be found suitable for admission after an interview by the Post Graduate Degree Committee of the Faculty.
6. For admission into DrPH candidates in addition to the above, must show evidence of a minimum of three-years' work experience in a Public Health position.
